SUMMARY
Position utilizes Hedberg Software for receiving
of customer freight. Assists the Distribution employees in day-to-day
operations. Supports the Distribution Department by communicating the
schedule of incoming or outgoing freight shipments to Distribution Manager
and the Distribution Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES &
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive incoming calls to schedule truck deliveries
- Receives all deliveries by verifying the packing slip information
against the USBI order information in Hedberg
- Responsible for coordinating pick-up of outgoing shipments to manufacturers,
dealers, etc.
- Prints delivery tickets, after receiving new freight, twice a day
(late morning and mid-afternoon) to ensure that Scheduling has all necessary
paper work
- Process freight claims and communicate with the Distribution Manager,
Sale Coordinator and Scheduler so that an alternate solution can be
offered to the client
- Participate in all department meetings, activities and is a supportive
member of the Distribution Team
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has NO supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college
or university; or ONE to TWO years related experience and/or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions,
short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group
situations to customers, clients, and other employees of our organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar
graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding
to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in
standardized situations.
